Perish The Land
Perish the Land was founded by Jesse Martinez, (drums); Josh Garcia, (lead guitar); and Rene Garcia, (rhythm guitar), in mid 2006.
After two years of practicing, the band found themselves giving into the pressures to give live performances, instead of focusing on perfecting their sound.
Throwing caution to the wind two more members were added, David Felan, (vocals); and Johnny “Blue“ Torres, (bass).
Already within the first six months of performing, Perish The Land became a force to be reckoned with in their home town of San Antonio, Texas, winning battle of the band contests and performing with national acts such as OTEP, Bury Your Dead, Sybreed, and Autumns to Ashes.
After losing their vocalist due to personal conflicts, Perish searched for a singer to bring more of an edge to the band and take them to the next level. Edward Contreras joined the band in late 2009 as the new lead vocalist, making the band unstoppable.
Turning heads since they first stepped onto the Metal scene in 2007, Perish aren't showing any signs of slowing down. They are stillworking towards reaching their
goal of starting a tour and getting signed to a major record label. They continue to push themselves, as a band, to take Texas Metal to the top.
Perish the Land just joined forces with its newest member on March 12 - guitarist Ryan Peters - after separating ways with its former lead guitarist at the end of 2011. The band is now working on perfecting and honing its sound as a 5-piece and plan on releasing a new CD later this year. They have several local shows lined up in Texas throughout April and May and are looking to go on a larger tour this summer.
