NORDHEIM
One evening in 2006, Warraxe and Benfok started to create what later became the track, Far Away.
After making the first draft of a tune that they thought, kicked ass, the two of them decided to push the project further. They then began looking for musicians to complete their lineup.
The search for talented and serious musicians, who would be compatible with them, was long and hard.
Fred was the first to join the band, armed with his blond beard! Then came the Protector of the Unholy Keyboard, Dark Dreamer. Other musicians were auditioned, but due to incompatibilities in the schedule, they had to take another path.
The horde was now nearly complete, since Warraxe took the role of guitarist and lead singer, but a drummer was still missing.
Finally,Phil was chosen and in 2009, with Warraxe on Vocals and Rythym Guitar, Fred on Lead Guitar, Benfok on Bass and Backing Vocals, Thom on
Keyboards and Phil on Drums, they recorded a demo of 3 songs - (Nightborn, Old Crazy Man and Sailing the Drakkar).
They printed out 150 of them and gave them away for free, and the reaction was so good they decided to record a full length album during
2010.
"Lost in the North" was released on November 5th 2010. After that, Phil decided to follow other projects and they found their new drummer, Luka (Kälter).
They even played with Korpiklaani last December! This year holds great opportunities for Nordheim, especially when they go back into the studio, this October, to
begin work on their 2nd album, so watch this space!
They will play at Rock Café Le Stage in Trois-Rivières, QC on March 10th. Starts at 7pm and costs $12.
Cafe Chaos in Montreal, on Saturday 7th April at 7pm. It's $10.
